Worship Ministry
We believe one of the primary purposes of the coming together of the body of Christ is to worship the One, True, Living God. When we corporately praise Him, our praises become a throne on which He sits. (Psalms 22:3)
Our praise and worship draws the very presence of God to us as our hearts are drawn to Him. (James 4:8) It is in His presence that we are powerfully touched and changed. (2 Cor 3:18) We "soak" (another word for waiting or resting) in His presence and allow the Holy Spirit to have His way us. (Psalms 37:7, 40:1, 130:5)
There are many biblical expressions of praise and worship and we encourage everyone, in sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, to engage in these expressions before God:
Singing - Ps 27:6, 33:1 47:6, 66:2, 95:1
Shouting - Ps 27:6, 66:1, 81:1, 95:1-2, 98:4, 100:1
Clapping - Ps 47:1, Isa 55:12
Dancing - 2 Sam 6:14, Ps 30:11, 149:3, 150:4
Lifting hands - Ps 63:4, 134:2; Lam 2:19, 1 Tim 2:8
Bowing down - Ps 95:6, Isa 45:23, Rom 14:11, Eph 3:14, Php 2:10
Singing in the Spirit - Ps 33:3, 96:1, 149:1; 1 Cor 14:15
Being Silent - Ps 62:1, 46:10
Bringing Tithes and Offerings - Ps 65:1, 66:13, 76:11
Repentance - Ps 51
Blowing trumpets (shofar) - Lev 25:9-10, Ps 98:6, 150:3; Joel 2:1,15; Amos 2:2
Waving flags - Ps 20:5, 60:4; Song 2:4, Isa 13:2
